Norton United Methodist Church, 8th Street at Virginia Avenue, observing Ascension Sunday June 1 at 11 a.m. Prelude of traditional Christian Music begins at 10:50 a.m. with Frank Gentry, pianist. The church also leads outreach worship at Mt. View Regional Medical Center every Sunday at 10 a.m.
Flat Gap Community Center, Pound, will host a gospel singing June 7 at 1 p.m. Performers will include Otis Forrest and Scott Phillips of South Carolina, Chuck Johnson from Kentucky, local talents Tammy Stallard and Family, and other local singers. The event is free to the public.
